Shimelle's Starting Point Scapbook Page

Another Scrapbooking challenge from Shimelle
I decided I had to do two pages, because both the kids start objecting if I'm only scrapbooking one of them.  The challenge was with a subtle background paper and three other pieces of paper as below in Shimelle's photo, with Caleb's I went for plain white cardstock but used some glimmer mist.  My mission for the next few months is to scrap all my old photos before I start on new projects.

Pancake Day and Valentines

According to Maddie, three very important things in one whole week, don't forget Ash Wednesday.
Pancakes on Tuesday, Maddie had a friend over to play after school, I put together lots of different toppings, but the lemon and sugar is always the favourite.
Kev was the chief tosser.

Valentines treats we made for all Maddie class mates, paper hearts stitched up with love heart sweets instead.

Last year Maddie got a Valentines from a boy in the village, but this year he gave it to someone else in her class, she was most upset. And for some reason Caleb calling out, " be my valentine Maddie, kiss kiss" on the way home from school wound her up even more!!!! Little Brothers

Shimelle - Sketch to scrapbook page - Four

Some scrapbooking at last, its been awhile but I had a chance to scrapbook a page in the weekend, with the help of Shimelle and her sketch to scrapbook page ideas

As I was doing this page, I realized the photographs were almost a year old, I can't believe how fast time goes and how much Caleb has grown.

A Simple Life

This year, I have ambitions of decluttering my life and home and finishing lots of craft projects I've been putting off for the past few years.  But there never seems to be enough hours in the day to get everything done, with the kids, housework, exercising etc.  I've been reading a few blogs about people who take the minimalist approach to their life with their home, wardrobe and  food and its great interesting and shocking at what lengths people will go to, to create a simple life.   I'm definitely not going to go to any extremes but I do sometimes feel my life would be easier if it wasn't filled with so much stuff and choice.  First on the agenda is getting rid of all the kids old clothes, and going through my wardrobe.  My work suits from eight years ago when I worked in London are just  wasting space, and why do I have about 5 pairs of painting jeans and hoodies?
My personal deadline for getting rid of all these clothes is the end of May.

12 on the 12th

I haven't done this since March, but I thought the 12.12.12 was a pretty special date to play along with my favourite blogger's challenge.

12 on the 12th  - dear lizzy

some very ordinary photography, its hard work trying to get any time to take photos on a week day, so its just photos around our place and our village.

everyone needs a hard hat to eat breakfast

a bit frosty this morning, -1 degrees when I went for my run

sulking now because I wouldn't let him take a photo

apparently there is nothing more satisfying than chopping and spilting your own wood for your log burner!

Xmas tree on the way to pick Maddie up from school

I always have to save letters for Maddie to post on the way home from school

advent calendar treats, last year I had to hide all the treats and bring them out each day because Caleb didn't understand the whole concept of an advent calendar.  This year he is showing lots of self-restraint, which must be hard for a 3 year old.

Harvest Festival

In October Maddie's school and our local church celebrated the harvest, the church was decorated with local corn, wheat, fruit and vegetables, the children bring baskets of fruit and vegetables to give thanks for a successful harvest.  Its been a tradition in Britain since the pagan times and I think a nice tradition to keep up in our small village.  But for Maddie the most exciting thing was the chance to dress up.

France in August

some photos from our break in France from way back in August,
I took so many photos these are just a couple of my favourites. Becky and Steve were wonderful hosts and we were treated to lots of lovely food.  My first experience of France apart from Paris years ago before the kids.

Summer Update

whoa, its been awhile since my last post, not much has been happening with us, Maddie at school, Caleb starting playgroup a few mornings a week.  But at the same time we made a few big decisons about things which just means we're sticking to life as it is rather than changing things, we took a while to get there but now everyone seems happy.

the past few months have been: potty training, growing our own veggies, a bath in a bucket, friends visiting, jubliee celebrations, enjoying the garden and of course lots more things
